Remember the good ol’ days of Facebook? It was just like a romance. You would meet someone and hit it off. You had the same interests and beliefs. They might sign up for your newsletter. Witty banter would ensue, then you knew it was “for real” when they liked your Facebook Page.
Once you got someone to like your Page, it was all kittens and sunshine (well, if you were an animal shelter or environmental org).
It was beautiful. By just posting great content, you could get people to pay attention. You could get them to act.
But then “it” happened…
Some called it “Reachpocalypse.” Others, “Facebook Zero.”
Whatever you call it, Facebook became a “pay to play” game. They changed their news feed algorithm and organic reach (the number of people who see your posts you didn’t pay for) plummeted.
We couldn’t find our supporters any more even though it was obvious we still loved each other.
Of course, there are those of you who are still doing fine without having to pay Facebook, and that’s awesome. Keep doing you.
There are some who will tell you to just post “better stuff” which I guess could be the problem. Lord knows I have seen some awful Facebook posts.
But what if you are posting great content to Facebook and still no one is seeing it?
You may need to adjust your Facebook strategy to include Facebook Ads.
